3.3T G70 RWD

I brought my car to the dealership for my 18k oil change and they told me that i needed an alignment and rear tires. I took the car to a local alignment shop and they told me how far out the alignment was(no numbers), just "man your alignment was way out!". For the last 2 weeks i have had the worst time keeping the car on the road, it is all over the place, especially at highway speeds. I took it back to the alignment shop today and the said it was still where they set it. When i told them what was happening they said that they would set it up like a sports car, bringing the rear camber in, almost to the red. They told me to drive it and let them know. I live out in the country and they have never worked on a G70 before.

My question is, can anyone tell me what the alignment numbers should have looked like? Should the rear camber be set into the red(i really dont know what number goes into red and where it would still be green)?

Any information would be appreciated.

Welcome, unfortunately not every alignment shop knows how to align these cars. Talk to your friends & see who they recommend, even some of the dealerships don't know WTH they are talking about.

Took 21 G90 to Firestone for alignment alignment and balancing after hitting curb, tearing sidewall, replacing tire and pulling to right and they tell me it's too new and they can't do alignment, seriously wtf? Do I have to bring it to genesis?

Try different Alignment shops in your area & if those fail take it to the dealership.

Thanks but wanted lifetime alignment on a national chain so I could bring it anywhere if needed and don't trust dealerships especially Hyundai or Kia..bad experiences, overpriced and usually end up wanting to murder a service manager or two, LOL!! Genesis dealers will likely be slightly different, but I do most of my own maintenance except things like alignment. Dodge dealer wanted $3500 for a brake job on my Hellcat and I did it with proprietary Brembo pads myself purchased at same dealership for $450..yes $450 for front oe pads..CRIMINAL COL!!! Turns out the other Firestone by me, all independently owned paid for computer update that the other morons didn't and wound up getting it done there which the other jerks didn't bother to tell me and took a chance calling other Firestone..Don't trust car repair shops as far as I can hit one punk with a tire iron!! Many of these crooks should be in jail and rare to find trustworthy monkeywrenchs in New York. One punk some 20 years back wanted to try and tell me an interior light switch on an 92 Lumina Z34 I was fixing up for my son was a junkyard item and would be $400 to replace and brought it to another shop a few blocks from there someone recommended and they replaced a fuse for free, however this same shop once gaining my trust was charging me some $575 for brakes all around on same Z34 New Rotors, Calipers, and pads all around, not a bad price, then after getting home I realize that if they're doing full brake job they should just replace brake hoses too, so called up and added it without a question, so I go to pickup car and bill is nearly $900 and I'm like livid..they charged $60 ea. brake hose WTF? I asked them what brand and they tell me Wagner so in front of them I opened rockauto on my phone and my cost for the hose is $6 ea. which I showed the owner and he consulted his son shop manager and said he needed to charge labor and couldn't do anything on the price and I laughed at him saying labor? You're already doing a full brake job taking calipers off you need to take off the bolt from calipers leaving only other bolt to take off from frame about 30 seconds!!! I told them if that's the game they're playing they won't be having me back as a customer again, I completely understand mark up for parts and labor I've worked with cars and parts for years but their jobber cost was likely half of my cost on rockauto meaning they paid $3 ea. Whatever you don't charge $240 for 12 inch brake hoses that cost you $20, so to this disservice station I say fu very much!!!

I totally understand how you feel, I do all my maintenance myself. I don't trust the dealerships as well, they charge way to much plus I'm very anal on who works on my car. I have a buddy that owns a car repair shop so I use his lifts & tools, for alignments I take it to another friend of mine that does alignments on supercars so doing my car would be easy. I don't have to get alignments all the time because I have chassis collars installed on the subframes so my subframes are perfectly aligned so I've only had a alignment when I had the car lowered back in 2019.

Thanks for responses, these were going to my junk folder, yeah mechanics like to get comfortable with them then try and take you for a ride more often than not and obviously if you know your stuff it's harder for them to get over which sucks for the poor slobs who don't know about cars. I once used this station where I was working because a fellow worker always used them for maintenance during shift and they would pick car up and return it before his shift was over so I figured great I can get an oil change without any hassle and always use full synthetic which is more costly but certainly the way to go, so he picks up my car and brings it back later in the day and after going over it I check oil and it wasn't changed, still dirty black oil and same filter 🤣🤣🤣rufkm? I call the guy up and he blames it on miscommunication with an employee, yeah ok, I'll take my money back sheister! Then there's the shop who you bring it for an oil change and and tells you you need new filters..cabin that's like $80 and I inform them no thanks I change myself( which I did before bringing it there but don't share that with moron crooks) Another wonderful episode is I need an immediate inspection sticker for my Hellcat and regular was too busy to do it that moment and went to a few other places before I wound up a Shell station with overpriced gas and they took it in put it on the lift, took a front tire off and promptly told me it wouldn't pass inspection because I needed brakes...oh really I literally did them myself like 2 days before!!! He wanted to tell me he'll have to give me a rejection sticker if I didn't complete the work now and repay for residual sticker upon passing, when working in an inspection station prior I informed him not only are they required to scrape sticker off the window prior to inspection which they hadn't, I said in front of other customers that they were trying to scam the wrong person and if they didn't immediately take my car down off the lift I'd have the cops here in minutes, lol🤣👮🚔 the manager or owner told the guy to give me the car back..good decision on the crooks part and probably lost the other two customers who overhead me getting loud with them!!! You can't make this shit up!! Never heard of chassis collars before but sounds interesting, thanks for the tip Spider😉🙏🏼

I live in an extremely small town. I've called almost every alignment and brake shop within an hour of me and everyone keeps saying they don't have the software to reset the computer after changing the brakes and performing an alignment. The nearest Genesis dealer is 1hr 45min away, one way. I'm being told only Genesis can do brakes and alignment. I have a 2017 Genesis G80.

Hi Meera I'm not the complete expert on this Spider55 staff member might be a better help but I can tell tthey're probably full of crapola on your 2017 g80 because that model in that year is based on the same one I owned a 2015 Hyundai Genesis before the new moniker came, they are the same car with minor cosmetic differences until new version came out in 2021. If you don't have a Firestone or Mavis near you or possibly a Goodyear tire center would work and being of the older design many local shops should be able to do it, but if not you should contact Genesis as they are designed around being customer oriented and accommodating making you actually feel valued as a customer, unlike Hyundai/Kia who have driven me away from their showrooms and service centers with attitudes and behavior leaving me wanting to cause them bodily harm❗️😆 They may possibly pickup your car leave you a loaner or rental and return your car when serviced. Good Luck

P.S. We had no issues in the 4 years or so we owned the Hyundai Genesis Ultimate AWD I serviced it myself, changed synthetic oil and all filters as needed, brakes and wipers and a complete pleasure to drive and traded in for a 2021 Genesis G90 which has so far in the year we've owned it no issues also, luxury for less is what I refer to it, Mercedes, BMW and Audi can keep their high price tags because you get way more standard options in Genesis that are premium priced in those brands and with depreciation a factor with Genesis you get them at bargain prices from original sticker and our G90 Ultimate is like driving in a limo, our grandkids love the reclining back seats with all sorts of gadgets and dual video screens in the backseat❗️🙅‍♂️🙅‍♀️😅
